HOW IS MARILYN WORKING FOR YOU

MARILYN HAS A PROVEN VOTING RECORD FOR DIVERSITY AND WOMEN

In 19 years has cast about a thousand votes - cannot count the many votes for minorities and women on boards, commissions, clerk magistrates and judges.

For example - Voted 4 times for Omar Hernandez -in past 19 years - most outstanding member of the Industrial Accident Board and Chair of the Board. Omar has established a Commission on Opioids - because he knows some of the injured workers coming before the commission are drug addicted.- "Marilyn states: The whole country is looking at this great innovation." Omar has compassion - so pleased that Omar happens to be Cuban American and can speak Spanish fluently - so needed.

Recently Marilyn voted for two so well qualified women for Superior court and District Court - with roots from India.
Marilyn fought for and was the deciding vote for the first African American clerk magistrate in Palmer- against strong opposition from then councillors and witnesses at the council hearing - Marilyn stated: "You need someone who reflects the people who come into the court". Marilyn is so proud of her vote for African American Thomasina Johnson for judgeship - Most compassionate person- in addition to her outstanding qualifications - As an attorney - she established a day care center for children of underprivileged mothers to enable them to work. Compassion is most important quality in a judge. When Marilyn voted she said: "I want to vote for Thomasina for sainthood"!
